2008 Kidz Music Reviews
April Music Reviews
albums from Gunnar Madsen & The BummKinn Band
I’m Growing & Rockin’ the Yeehaw albums from Gunnar Madsen & The BummKinn Band, reviewed April 2008Whether highbrow, lowbrow or unibrow, Gunnar Madsen’s I’m Growing is the preamble to a new kid’s musical constitution. These songs are intelligent, sharp, funny and wise and filled with dis chord and dat chord - a delectable synthesis of sounds and emotional-memories that had to find their way to this specticular (a new word combo of spectacular and particular) time and space – And, the world is a better place for it. This is a good time for children’s music. Artists that listen to their own voice and share a mix of musical styles that honor the past and brave new frontiers. Madsen has belted a winner and hopefully everyone will catch it!

The BummKinn Band’s Rockin’ the Yeehaw bounds out of the corral, hits the trail at a full gallop and nary lets up from there.
